Put a festival tent up in the oldest township of Grahamstown with a mission to bring healing through the arts and you get the basic ingredients for Fingo Festival, a dream to bring the art closer to the people on the other side of town. Let Jaojoby – King of Salegy do his entrance and you are sure to draw a crowd enjoying the festive music from Madagascar with distinctive musicians and a voice and smile that makes everybody happy. And if the music is not intoxicating enough the beautiful dancers must do the trick. The audience is cheering, whistling but only a few individuals take the floor, although the invitation is open. Sometimes it is as good to sit back and enjoy.
